it's been six months since my car was taken into the sky by the scrap man. the car had become a bed for my cat since it (the car) developed an incurable technical problem. As the guy said at the garage, 'fffffffffffft. no chance, mate'
There's only so much money isn't there, and i couldn't afford to both buy, and tax and insure a vehicle, so I felt i had no option but to use public transport for a while.
Six months later and I don't seem to be any further forward in affording a car and travelling by bus has become a fixture in my life.
the unpredictability of the public transport system is a source of endless fascination, as is the sheer delight of rubbing up against the jolly British bus passenger.
But I realised thre were bonuses to be had byletting the bus driver take the strain when i caught a bus to go one stop - something i would never have done if i'd had to pay the fare, but i had my bus pass and a bus came by as i was passing a stop so i just hopped on it, flashed the pass and hopped off a stop later. result!
